GosuncnWelink GM800 Module Successfully Tested the 5G SA Business Network
Source:

On December 13, 2019, good news came from Shenzhen: GosuncnWelink 5G module GM800 successfully achieved business testing with existing network 5G base stations and became the first Chinese module manufacturer to open the 5G SA (Standalone, independent networking) mode. It has taken a crucial step towards 5G large-scale commercial use.

The test was conducted under China Telecom and China Unicom networks that have already opened 5G commercial networks in Shenzhen. GosuncnWelink engineers tested the data services on the 5G live network where the module resides and tested NSA and SA respectively. The test results show that the performance of the module meets the design requirements, the protocol interaction with the equipment on the base station side is stable and reliable, and the operating status of the GM800 product has been effectively verified.

GM800 is a 5G module developed by GosuncnWelink based on Qualcomm SDX55 chip, supports SA and NSA network deployment, supports 5G NR / 4G / 3G commercial network frequency bands in major regions and operators around the world, 5G standard can support sub-6GHz / mmWave. The peak rate of data service can reach 3.2Gbps (DL) / 500Mbps (UL). GM800 can support multiple network protocols (PPP, IPv4 / v6) and various functions (network slice management, FOTA, Remote wakeup, etc.), and can provide USB3.1, PCIE, 2xUSIM, I2S, and other hardware interfaces.

GM800 supports many hardware interfaces and can be applied to many types of terminals, including CPE equipment, industrial routers, consumer electronics equipment, etc.

5G commercial licenses and the launch of commercial 5G networks in major regions such as China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and Australia have sprung up and developed of  5G chips, 5G modules, and 5G terminals industries. The advantages of ultra-high bandwidth and ultra-low latency brought by 5G technology will also realize more application scenarios in IoT, including Internet of Vehicles, Industrial Internet of Things, and Security Monitoring.

GosuncnWelink will provide industry customers with ES samples for integration testing. You are welcome to follow the progress!
